The ultra-short and ultra-intense laser pulse width is on the order of femtoseconds (fs, 10^-15 seconds), and the peak power is on the order of terawatts (TW, 10^12 watts). A typical ultra-short and ultra-intense laser device is the 200TW/25fs titanium sapphire system of the French company Amplitute (as shown in the figure below, covering an area of ~2mx10m=20 m^2).
