Product Description

Indications

The external fixation brace stabilises and supports bones during fracture healing. It allows the skin at the fracture site to breathe, effectively preventing secondary infections, such as mould and odour, and reducing itching. This improves fracture healing and increases patient comfort while facilitating observation of fracture progress during treatment.

Contraindications

The following conditions should be avoided, or the product should be used strictly according to medical advice under the guidance of the attending physician:

• Patients with polyurethane allergies
• Severely mentally ill patients
• Patients with bleeding disorders who are not hemostatic
• Patients with untreated wounds or skin ulcers
• Patients with epilepsy
• Children unable to verbally communicate or patients lacking the ability to express personal consciousness clearly and correctly

Instructions

1. Open the lids of Bag A and Bag B.
2. Pour the liquid from Bag B into Bag A, then tighten the lid of Bag A and shake it vigorously for 10-20 seconds to mix well.
   • After mixing, avoid aiming the Bag A lid at the operator's face and eyes, keeping the face at a distance of more than 40 cm from the lid.
3. Gently squeeze the curing agent in Bag A near the interfaces to expel as much air as possible. Connect the interfaces of Bag A with the interfaces of the brace. It is more effective to inject the curing agent into the brace in a vacuum state.
4. Align the interfaces of Bag A with the brace input interfaces, rotate to secure a tight connection, and reinforce. Then, press Bag A to inject the curing agent into the brace completely. Once done, press and lock the check valve.
5. Apply the brace to the area requiring stabilization, then wrap it with a bandage to shape it and ensure it fits snugly against the skin.

Precautions

1. Discontinue use immediately if the fixation brace shows signs of damage before or during use.
2. Do not clean the surface of the orthopaedic brace with alcohol-containing liquids.
3. If the patient experiences increased pain during use, stop using the brace immediately.
4. The mixing time for curing agents A and B and the injection time should be controlled within 1-2 minutes. After 5 minutes, the curing agent will solidify and cannot be fully injected into the brace.
5. Avoid direct skin contact with the curing agent.
6. Perform the entire brace curing process at normal room temperature, ensuring the temperature variation does not exceed ±5 degrees Celsius.

Maintenance and Storage

1. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
2. The orthopaedic brace has a shelf life of two years.
